    Preparation

    Financing
We at Siems Lasik want to remain competitively priced. In order to reduce the cost incurred through canceled or missed surgeries, all fees associated with a Lasik procedure are due one week prior to surgery.

We accept Cash, Credit Cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover), Cashier Checks, and Siems Lasik Gift Certificates.

We do NOT accept personal or business checks over $500.

Several financing options are available through CareCredit, but must be arranged one week prior to surgery.

Insurance benefits and/or discounts must be applied at the time payment is accepted. Discounts and/or insurance benefits will NOT be applied after payment has been accepted and/or processed.

    Pre-Surgery Preparation
    Contact lens usage

Prior to surgery, it is important that contacts NOT be worn for the time specified by the doctor. Failure to follow the doctor's advice may result in the surgery being postponed, or poor results after the surgery.

The following are general guidelines regarding contact lens usage. Dr. Siems and his medical staff reserve the right to amend these recommendations based on a patient's specific needs.

Soft contacts/disposable, or daily wear (not toric) should generally be out at least three to four days.

Soft toric contacts should generally be out for 7 - 10 days.

Gas permeable or hard PMMA lenses should generally be out for a minimum of 6 weeks.

    * The doctor will advise you of your specific needs.

    Week of Surgery

Fill your prescription for your antibiotic eye drop, Zymar.

Purchase a one month supply of preservative free artificial tear drops.

Arrange for transportation to and from the Lasik Center on the day of your surgery.

    Two Days Prior to Surgery
Begin using your Zymar and Pred Forte eye drops in the eye (s) that will be operated on.

    Day of Surgery
Due to the sensitivity of our lasers DO NOT WEAR any fragrances, i.e. perfume, cologne, scented lotions, or hairsprays. These products place deposits on the lens of the laser and may affect the accuracy of the procedure.

Make sure you have arranged transportation home from the surgery center.

Dress in warm lint free comfortable clothing (NO mohair, wool, cashmere, etc…)

4 hours prior to surgery avoid consuming caffeinated products (coffee, tea, chocolate, etc…).

Eat a light meal prior to arriving at the center

Arrive 1 - 2 hours prior to your scheduled surgery

Do Not Bring Your Cell Phone into the Surgery Area
