    Candidates

    Criteria for ideal candidates
  • 21 - 45 years of age.
  • -3 to -20 D of myopia.
Currently ICL are approved for myopia only. Hyperopia and astigmatisms will be correctable in the future.
  • No history of ophthalmic disease such as glaucoma, iritis, or diabetic retinopathy.

  • ICL may be the refractive technology of choice in patients with:

  • Extreme refractive errors - Lasik is not generally recommended for patients whose myopia is greater than 12D.

  • Thin corneas - The cornea is the clear curved surface on the front of the eye. Unlike lasik, the vision ICL does not have any effect on the cornea and therefore may be appropriate for patients with thin corneas.

  • Dry eyes - Vision ICL does not cause or contribute to dry eyes.
